How to sign popular initiatives, referenda and petitions as a Swiss abroad:
If you are a Swiss abroad and you sign popular initiatives or referenda, please indicate your current residential address abroad on the signature sheet.
Please keep in mind, however, to always indicate the commune and the canton of Switzerland, in which you are registered to vote in the fields “Commune” and “Canton”.
Everyone can send requests to the authorities through petitions. The term “petition” includes suggestions, criticism or complaints. A petition can be signed or even launched by every person in the world.
When signing a petition sheet, it is therefore perfectly acceptable to only indicate your address abroad. After signing the sheets, you will only have to send them back to the petitioner.
